Dear Editor:Due to the recent news items pertaining to a non-federated woman’s club in the area, The Woman’s Club of Raleigh, Inc. feels the need to issue the following statement:
“The Woman’s Club of Raleigh, Inc. is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of North Carolina and the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (International). Our membership is open to any interested female without regard to race, creed or religion. The local club, established in 1904, has always been open to adult females with a desire to assist in the furthering of the intellectual, philanthropic, social and civic betterment of the community.
We are dedicated to serving our community and state with this same unbiased mission. Through a highly motivated and committed membership the Club will continue to strive to be a strong voice in the community, creating an awareness of family and community issues and providing quality leadership in these areas.”
Sincerely,
Julene B. McPhaulPresident
