 Community Service Program 
supports international service agencies, sponsors education on world issues, and provides opportunities to host foreign visitors.

Special Programs & Activities

 

The International Outreach CSP supports the following GFWC programs through time and donations:

United Nations, Heifer International, Care International, Operation Smile and Stop Human Trafficking. 

 

 
Register new citizens to vote at the Naturalization Ceremony held at the beginning of the International Festival of Raleigh in September/October.
 
Supports Partners of the Americas with donations and board member representation
 
Supports the Friendship Force of Raleigh with active membership representation and participation in cultural exchanges with other countries.
 
Supports the United Nations Association of Wake County through active membership and sponsoring students to attend the United Nations Anniversary Dinner each October.
 
Conducts eight complimentary Great Decisions Lectures by outstanding national and international professionals each February and March.  The Great Decisions Lecture series is held each Thursday morning in February and March at 10:30 AM at the WCR.  The Foreign Policy Association chooses the subjects and publishes the books.  We have outstanding speakers (retired Ambassadors and professors, etc.).

Continental Cuisine & Conversation involves dinner at a restaurant representing each of the seven continents.  The conversation is led by a member of the WCR around the continent represented by the restaurant. 

Cultural Tour of the Continents involves attending a cultural event representing each of the seven continents, such as: a Japanese Tea Gathering at the Tea House in Duke Gardens,an Australian wine tasting, or a culinary tasting of Ecuadorian foods.
